Inside Raintree
| Raintree Com-mu-ni-ty: Church |
Community is an interacting group of people linked together for purposes that increase the quality of life for each individual. |
We invite you to come and investigate the extraordinary experience of Christian Community. Author John Ortberg has recently published a book titled: Everybody’s Normal Till You Get to Know Them. The thesis of his book is that the more we get to know each other the more we are likely to see the flaws in each others lives. It’s like finding some clothes on a rack in the store with a tag that reads slightly irregular: A person comes with a little tag: There’s a flaw here. A streak of deception, a cruel tongue, a passive spirit, an out-of-control temper. I’m not going to tell you where it is, but it’s there. So when you find it-and you will find it-don’t be surprised. If you want to enter a relationship with this model, there is only one way- As Is.
We invite you to come and experience church with those of us with ’slightly irregular’ tags attached to the garment of our humanity. We are a church who seeks to help each other develop a passion for God and compassion for people because God is so incredibly awesome and people are so valuable.
We are a church that is committed to transferring the central message of Christ (the Gospel) to our generation. Raintree Community Church offers hope through Jesus Christ to a disconnected world. Our goal in our Sunday worship service is to create a relevant environment where we experience the intensely practical nature of Scripture as well as the awesome majesty of God. The ultimate vision as a church is to help as many people as possible to experience what the older Westminster creed concluded-To glorify God and Enjoy Him Forever. God can be enjoyed both now and forever!
Our Purpose:
To help as many people as possible to have
A Passion for God & Compassion for people.
Jesus said: ‘So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.’ Matthew 7:12
Because we are so glad that someone let us know about the good news of Christ’s forgiveness, we want to let others in on what we have received. Sharing the Gospel is one of the greatest acts of compassion.
Our Vision:
The vision is the ultimate goal of our church. Our vision is borrowed from a statement put together by great minds of the 17th century (the Westminster Catechism). We use it because we feel it still remains the best statement of our ultimate goal for life.
To Glorify God & Enjoy Him forever.
Note: ‘To glorify God’ means that we prize God above everything else in life. God is most glorified when we enjoy Him. God is awesome and can be enjoyed NOW as well as forever.
